AirLife Microcuff

The Microcuff^® Endotracheal Tube features specific designs for pediatric and adult anatomy.

PEDIATRIC

• Microcuff uses an advanced microthin polyurethane cuff membrane to seal the airway at ultra-low pressure
• Microthin material (10 microns) permits a true high volume, low pressure (HVLP) cuff to reduce cuff pressure
• Effectively seals at an average cuff pressure of 11 cm H201, about half the pressure of conventional tubes
• Tubes seal below the commonly presumed capillary perfusion pressure of the pediatric population, diminishing the risk to mucosal tissue
• Ultra-low cuff pressure can reduce the risk of airway trauma
• Microthin polyurethane cuff membrane can withstand burst pressures over 800 cm H203
• Puncture strength almost double compared to conventional cuffs

ADULT

• Ultra-low cuff pressure can reduce the risk of airway trauma
• Microcuff tube has advanced microthin polyurethane cuff material that allows the channels to “self-seal,” reducing the possibility of leakage
• Enhanced design may reduce micro-aspiration of potentially infectious pharyngeal secretions, as well as the potentially lowered risk of VAP in prolonged ventilation
• Designed for better contact with tracheal contour
• Thinner material enables greater visualization of vocal cords when cuff is deflated
• Puncture strength and burst pressure of MICROCUFF tube is almost double compared to conventional cuffs
